Allotment Caretaker
Role Description: This is a regular role perfect for those who can commit some time each week to help tend the allotment. Tasks include watering plants, weeding beds, composting, and general upkeep.
Time Commitment: Weekly commitment of a few hours.
Ideal For: Individuals who enjoy consistent involvement and love maintaining a garden’s day-to-day health.
Planting and Seedling Helper
Role Description: This ad-hoc role supports seasonal planting efforts and seedling preparation. Volunteers assist with sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, and prepping new areas for planting. Sometimes we also need extra hands for collecting compost or wood chippings or making more structural changes to the allotment. No weekly commitment is necessary—just sign up when you’re available!
Time Commitment: Flexible, with more activity in spring and early summer.
Ideal For: Volunteers who prefer flexibility or have a knack for nurturing young plants and helping with new projects
